Prequalification

To get on Hoffman’s bid invitation list, please complete and return the Subcontractor/Vendor Questionnaire below.

I have been in construction for 30 years and never enjoyed a project as much as yours. I like coming to a job that is clean, well run, and where every major activity is communicated every morning to all the workers… other projects in South Lake Union are nothing like this. Everyone gets along here too! Craftworker feedback at the McKenzie Apartments project in Seattle, WA

FAQs

Complete and return the Subcontractor/Vendor Questionnaire above to receive bid invitations from us. To continue to receive bid invitations, you must update the questionnaire every 12 months.

Most of our bid packages are available for all firms to bid without advance prequalification. Evaluation of the received bids will consider whether the successful bidder has the appropriate financial, material, equipment, facility and personnel resources to meet the contractual requirements and a satisfactory record of previous contract performance, quality, safety and integrity. Where advance prequalification is required for a specific bid package, we will advertise and/or contact potential bidders for prequalification information prior to issuing bid documents.

The required coverages, limits, and Additional Insureds are identified in Subcontract Attachment “B”. The sample Subcontract is included in the Request for Proposals. Many of our projects utilize a Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) wherein we provide general liability insurance for our Subcontractor’s on‑site activities.

We often utilize Subcontractor Performance Insurance in lieu of traditional Subcontractor bonding. Bonding may be required due to the size of the proposed subcontract or state law, e.g. Washington GC/CM work.

Subcontractors are required to comply with our Safety Program, including its procedures, practices and policies. Refer to the Minimum Project Safety Requirements or project‑specific Request for Proposals for additional information.

Yes. Every person entering a Hoffman worksite is subject to Drug & Alcohol testing. Drug & Alcohol cards from Hoffman‑recognized programs will be accepted if they have been issued within the past six months. We pay for the cost of the laboratory analysis.

Most bid documents are available at local plan centers and here on this page.

No. Anyone can view the plans online. Many of our projects also allow the bid documents to be downloaded without charge.

Yes. Bid documents may usually be obtained directly from the printer. The Invitation to Bid, the Hoffman website and the RFP all identify where to obtain bid documents.

All required documents, e.g., Subcontract or Purchase Agreement, Performance and Payment Bonds (if required), Certificate of Insurance, CCIP Enrollment (if applicable) and Safety Plan must be returned within fifteen (15) days of award.
