Minor League Baseball Returns on a Fast Track
Ron Tonkin Field
This award-winning complex brought minor league baseball back to the Portland area. Operations in the surrounding Recreational Complex continued throughout construction, including OSAA football playoffs, softball, lacrosse, soccer, and running, without impact.
Hoffman led the design-build effort for a new minor league baseball stadium that is home to the Hillsboro Hops. Built within an existing multi-field sports complex, the stadium combines several types of synthetic turf to support a multi-sport athletic program. In addition to hosting professional baseball, the stadium accommodates football, soccer, and lacrosse. The family-friendly home of the Hops baseball team is a place where Hillsboro’s rapidly-growing community can come together to cheer for their new minor league team. The stadium combines fantastic views with an array of seating options for fans to enjoy the game. The compact, 4,500-seat bowl ensures great sight lines for everyone and an intimate fan experience. Early site work relocated utility systems, including domestic water, irrigation, power, telephone, cable, and stormwater, without disruption to neighboring high school football games.
