New Building Is an Incubator for Future Technology Leaders
WSU Engineering and Computer Science Building
To provide the University’s mechanical and electrical engineering students hands-on experience working with nanotechnology, WSU hired Hoffman to construct classrooms, labs, and cleanrooms side-by-side in this 56,000 SF building.
This highly sophisticated 56,000 SF, four-story building serves as an incubator for future leaders in the discipline of applied technology. The building features three Class 100 cleanrooms, tiered classrooms, research laboratories, and office space. The first floor features classrooms with highly integrated Audio/Visual systems that allow for distance-learning with other campus sites. There are also two radio frequency isolated labs, a fan room, a radio transmitter room, and an antenna well in the attic space. The building’s new high-tech labs and cleanrooms will be a catalyst for the growth of research facilities on campus. The project earned LEED Gold.
